Today Acumen launched the new Peace Direct website.
Peace Direct’s cause is grassroots peacebuilding initiatives, and is the sister site of Acumen’s earlier project Insight on Conflict.
The site was built on Wordpress and utilises some of the latest features to create a great-looking, dynamic and easily maintainable site. You can access the site at the following link:
Acumen today launched the new website for the Centre for Investigative Journalism, a training and research charity committed to education and reporting based in London.
The site is built in WordPress, the open-source CMS, and is produced from designs provided by Typographics .

Today saw the launch of the Seed to Plate site, a place for everyday people to get growing their own vegtables. Acumen are proud to have built the plot designer for this original new product, a wizard system for creating your own garden plot on the basis of your likes and dislikes.

Acumen are proud to report the release of the Varsani Richardson website. V+R engaged Acumen to deliver their exact typography requirements to the web, which Acumen accomplished with a range of technologies detailed in previous posts.

Touchnote engaged Acumen to produce the online card creator at the centre of their new product, aimed at users who want to have more control over physical greetings cards sent from the web.
The card creator that Acumen built allows the uploading of images from a user’s computer, subsequent resizing and positioning options, followed by styled captioning and symbols both on the front and inside of the card.
Today the Touchnote product was released, and we wish them all the best for the coming months!

Acumen worked with Peace Direct to create the Insight on Conflict website, a grassroots peacebuilding and conflict reporting organisation based in London, released on the 11th of August.
The website is based on the WordPress CMS, and has been customised to give full control to Peace Direct over the associations of Themes, Conflict Areas, Organisations and their Initiatives, along with automatic map generation and RSS aggregation.
I’m sure Lucy has told you how delighted we all are with the Insight on Conflict website, but I just want to add my own congratulations. It looks a treat, and particularly with the maps and additional search capabilities, offers a much more appealing product.

Acumen have moved to a larger space at The Werks, 45 Church Road, Hove. The Werks is a co-working environment aimed at creative professionals, managed by BMC founder Ian Elwick.
Acumen have undergone a facelift – our new branding will appear on all stationary from Feb 1st. The design was by Kiki Hayes and represents the established nature of Acumen: accurate, transparent, practical.
